I created all illustrations, graphic assets and also animated all elements. I worked as lead designer / art director on the project. We also enabled social features, so the parents can easily share their own book with friends and family (generating even more business for ABN AMRO). The idea with the graphical style, was to attract parents attention and make bank savings seem more appealing and relevant. The graphical style is playful, young, feminine, elegant, clean and with a mix of clear color surfaces and elements of fabric. The experience is running on a large touch screen display in an ABN AMRO in-store, in the Prenatal flagship store close to Amsterdam.

In the story the child passes by elements and periods parents should be aware of and consider saving up money for (such as cradle, bikes, school, drivers license, studying abroad, wedding etc.). The application will then automatically generate a child from the combination of the their physical attributes and create a customized story (with their child and selected profession). In order to make the whole experience more personalized, the parents are able to create avatars of themselves and choose between four (future) professions for their child. So the child never really grows in the story, but keeps proportions.

The cloud "born" in the fist chapter, is made to symbolize the rest of the book as the parents' dream for what their child will become. The book shows parents when their child is born, starts walking, goes to school, gets an education, studies abroad and finally succeeds with its profession and even starts a new family. We created the concept of a linear storybook, with personalized elements. The Dutch bank ABN AMRO commissioned Ijsfontein to make a playful application, showing young parents the importance of saving up for their children's future.
